Here's Stanley Weaver Jr's cover art for Aminah Armour's comic about the bodyguard and crimefighter with the brickhouse frame, Dziva Jones. Peep the pencils below...
Weaver (Street Team) is the cover artist for the four issue series (this is the cover to #3, I think), which is written by Armour with art by Ashley A. Woods (Millenia War). The first issue of Dziva Jones is already out. You can click here for a SWEET 3 page preview, or just go cop it on Indyplanet! I will keep you posted on new Dziva Jones news when I get it, and write you a review of the comic once I get my hands on it!

Speaking of Sanford Greene...
Mef Designs by Sanford Greene...
This is some character/concept art Greene did for the Method Man graphic novel he did a while back with David Atchison and Kelsey Shannon (read my review here). I love Mef's supernatural weapon juxtaposed with his Wu-Tang steez... I ran across this while looking for artwork from his new Dark Horse serial Rotten Apple.
also, here's some pages from Battle Bash
, the book he drew for French publisher Humanoids...
That'd be me finishing off the shrimp... I'm real close to ordering this book on Amazon
, even though I don't understand French... I'll be in Google Translate like a mug, I guess. Anyways, in case you missed it, click here to get a quick preview of Dark Horse Presents #2, which debuts the first chapter of Rotten Apple, which I expect to be freaking awesome too.

New teeshirt designs by Nat Landry
Looks like my ninja Nat Landry (Bring the Pain Jermaine) is getting into the teeshirt game. Here's a couple designs he posted yesterday...
Nat (who already paints, rhymes and moonlights as a ninja mercenary) will fit right into the teeshirt hustle, and can take it as far as he wants to take it, in my opinion. The SCAD graduate graciously contributed to the first two issue of GhettoManga Quarterly, but I was already a fan of his trippy hip hop-infused comics and paintings before that, and remain so today! You can check out more of his art on his blog Ah Did That!!!!! and make sure you comment so he can keep you posted on how/where to get these tees!

Start the Day off Right w/Aesop Rock
I never got around to buying Aesop Rock's 2007 album None Shall Pass
, but I need to get it... I spent some time pouring through some youTubery from the record, and it's all good stuff. Case in point, peep this video for Pigs which also features Aesop's album cover artist Jeremy Fish painting a SWEET mural... and because I am a man of and for the people, I threw in the official video for the title track too...
have a great day!

"I'm sorry I pimp-slapped you into that china cabinet..."
Black Dynamite by Samax Amen.
Haven't really had time to draw like I've wanted lately, so I took a minute and drew Black Dynamite, the afro-wearing badass from the 2009 action-comedy of the same name. The movie's producers actually put out an awesome Black Dynamite comic too! Click Here for a free preview of the comic. Anyways, I drew this picture straight into illustrator (with a mouse). FREE Hotdoggin' Wallpaper anyone?
I've been rocking this wallpaper above on my computer ever since Playdough approved the drawing below as a teeshirt design for his limited edition promo to his new album Hotdoggin

I'll be getting my teeshirt in the mail soon, in time to rock it at the album release party on April 29th. Until then, I'll have some more prints, magazines, comics and other such things at the party and will also be creating live art solo, and with the mighty Just-Us League, so if you can make it out, please do! Until then, feel free to preview the album below, which releases on April 26th.

"In a world where giant robots exist, those without them get stepped on..." -Corance Davis
Here's a few ads I designed for GodBody: Senseless Acts of Savagery by my dude Corance Davis, with art by Rasheed Hines...
Corance has been doing the due diligence on this comic, dropping a new page every Friday on the GhostWerks blog, hooking up the Project Wonderful account for the impending ad blitz, as well as writing the next episode. The 13 page story is sort of a prelude to a larger story that Corance is still working out the kinks to, but he and Rasheed are cranking this out pretty good.
The story takes place in a world where creating bigger and better giant robots (commonly referred to as "Godbodies") is the new arms race. Like any good giant robot story, the robot action, explosions and collateral damage are a pretty veil for the writers to address various social, political, and spiritual issues.
"I believe that giant robots are at their best when showing man's endeavor, through technology, to be God, and managing only to destroy himself in the effort" Corance explains in The God Hour, a series of blog posts that read like a director's commentary track to Godbody. "It's a story about geniuses. A brother and sister who compete through their engineering prowess; mentors who live vicariously through the skills of their proteges; pilots who can make these powerful machines do what no one else can. It comes down to man vs. man; via machine. In a world where giant robots exist, those without them get stepped on. I hope to tackle these issues with a uniquely American sensibility in regard to character, storytelling, and especially design."

"I love manga," he continues "but I don't want to just bite the Japanese. We can do better than this OEL stuff. God Body isn't a giant robot manga. It's a giant robot comic! And, I'm hoping to drop a jewel that proves to be singular on the comics landscape; both here and Japan. I believe the stories that will unfold from the God Body universe have the ability to illuminate something of human nature, and our relationship to our technology, our governments, and each other.
That, and they'll blow stuff up real good."
