Chris Hardwick will lead a panel that includes Michael Jai White ("Black Dynamite", co-writer), Byron Minns ("Bullhorn", co-writer), Scott Sanders (director, co-writer), Brian Ash (comic author, writer for The Boondocks) to chat about the making of the greatest Blaxploitation comedy of all time, and its extension into the comic world. There will also be a live music performance by the film's score-master Adrian Younge and The Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra.

Happy New Year, fammo! For my particular brand of rap nerd, Lyrics Born, Del the Funky Homosapien, Dan the Automator and Pigeon John would make the illest rap supergroup EVER...


My dude Elihu posted this song on Facebook, and it had me messed up... so here you go. This song I'm Just Raw was on Lyrics Born's classic album Same !@#$ Different Day, and I guess it was on this Fifa Street 2 game as well. Lyrics Born dropped a new album last year As U Were, which I didn't buy because I was busy making poverty look good in 2010. I may actually make a living wage in 2011, so perhaps I will be able to buy more records. But enough about me, if you're reading this, it probably means your New Year festivities didn't end in any drunken fatalities (or you successfully eluded the cops. Congratulations you murdering bastard!), so again, here's to a happy and prosperous 2011!

Jim Mahfood & Justin Hampton art show this Saturday

 "SubSpace Art is proud to announce an exhibit of works from Justin Hampton and Jim Mahfood - AKA Food One. The exhibit will feature new works from both artists, widely known for their illustrative, poster, graffiti and comic-based art. Their collective images pull from a wide variety of popular and underground elements of music, visual art, comic art, manga and film.
Doors will open Saturday November 13th at 7pm with a free live concert from the supergroup, SWEETHEAD, comprised of Troy Van Leeuwen (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) with Norm Block and Eddie Nappi (Mark Lanegan band) and vocalist Serrina Sims. Also included are performances from Lonie Marshall and The Lil' Big Ups plus local L.A. funkateer, DJ Expo, will be serving up an original mix of 1960s - 70's classic R&B and soul."
