Build and Destroy w/Josh Boulet

Here's a brief interview of Dallas area indie comics phenom Josh Boulet (The Green Reefer, The Wrong Night in Texas), conducted by my dude Michael Lagocki...

Brought to you free, via the magic of YouTube...
Josh is an example of someone who was inspired by my early self-publishing efforts as part of the mighty GhostWerks crew, only to be so prolific that he makes me look bad! So the moral of the story is don't inspire anyone. No, wait, that's not it... OH! What I MEANT to say is that if you want to pick an indie dude to ride with, Josh is your man. Beneath his unshaven stoner exterior beats the heart of a hustler! As he hints at in the video, if you order one of his books, you should know that he created it. He printed it. He licked the stamp! Anyways, to read more of my rambling about Josh click here.

Green Reefer, Year One (and a half)...

my dude Josh Boulet is back with a brand new issue of his hilarious stoner comic The Green Reefer, which he gleefully describes as "The Tick meets Cheech & Chong." The new comic will compile all his (and early 2011) strips from Nug and Treating Yourself magazines, plus lots of other stuff loaded in for good measure for the low, low price of $4.20. But because Josh is always in a generous mood, he's got stuff he's giving away as well...
"Email me pics doing the weed signal" says Josh on his blog about the hand gestures seen in the drawing of the Dilated Duo above "and I'll mail you a free surprise!"

Click this pic to get your hands on a copy of The Green Reefer: Year One 1/2, or feel free to click here for a free sample of some of the good stuff he plants on his website!
Enjoy...

Want some Free reefer?

I just noticed yesterday that there's new episodes of my boy Josh Boulet's action comedy smash The Green Reefer available FREE on the internet (for medicinal purposes of course), which will appeal to anyone who would like to read a comic best described as "The Tick meets Cheech & Chong" (who wouldn't).

I guess it's a good time to point out that I'm not a smoker. But from what I can tell, there's no serious reason to be against legalizing marijuana. Sure, there's the morals issues, which I respect, but is weed really any worse than alcohol? Or cigarettes for that matter? Even people who are not in support of it don't seem to have a case against it being legal, just their own reasons not to use. The only people who seem to be hardcore against it is the DEA, and maybe the people who make money off locking people up over it?
As for me, I don't smoke, but I'm in favor of lighting 'em if you got 'em. But enough o' that! click here to head over to TheGreenReefer.com to sample what Josh is passing around! You KNOW you want to...

GMQ Fall issue available on IndyPlanet!

Word is starting to come back positive from the preorderers and subscribers, so I can confidently report that the Fall issue of  GhettoManga Quarterly doesn't suck! And now you can cop it on IndyPlanet. Here's the Sales Pitch and some preview pages
IN THIS ISSUE:
*MANCHILD by Samax Amen- In this corner we have a pissed off three-year-old with a thirty eight revolver. In the other corner, we have a cybernetically enhanced retrieval team hellbent on bringing the kid back to... whatever...
*IF I WAS DICK by Joshua Boulet- Let me just say this: Dick Chaney is SO gangster... you don't even KNOW!!!
*PYROTECHNIC PORNO BABIES: YETI SPERM by Brock Rizy - no, that's not a typo. There really is a comic in this issue starring the super-short geniuses that the mayor calls to tackle problems too OFFENSIVE for the regular authorities handle!

We also have a review and an eight page preview of FELIPE SMITH'S groundbreaking culture clash manga PEEPO CHOO in our Right-to-Left section, courtesy of Verticle. All that PLUS Corance's Top 5, BegBorrowSteal, Movies That Should Be Comics, and more!

Dope, right? So anyways, click here to order or subscribe on the blog sidebar.
We don't have any shows planned for the rest of the year, so this is pro'lly the best way to cop this issue, unless You can wait until 2011. Or I guess you can have your comic shop email me at whatever@ghettoManga.com to order one for you. If any more shows are added to the schedule, I'll be sure to let you know!
